Our Tennis Policy

Weather

Lessons may be cancelled by the coach in the event of wash out rain or extreme heat. In the event of wash out rain, a decision will be made by the coach as close to the lesson start time as possible, unless the weather is as such that a decision can be made earlier. All notifications will be made by the coach via SMS or phone call.

When the temperature is 36 degrees celsius or above, Melbourne School of Tennis' Heat policy will be enforced, and lessons will be suspended until the temperature drops and until further notification – which may only be given to confirm if a restart time will go ahead.  If no further notification is provided, assume the lessons remain suspended for the day.

If you are not contacted at all on any given day; assume the lesson will go ahead as planned - as any weather policy enforcements or changes will always be communicated by the coach to inform clients of any changes or restarts.

If lessons cannot be conducted due to weather policy, a make-up lesson will be arranged.

Melbourne School of Tennis will be the determinant of whether lessons go ahead in any weather circumstances.

Cancellation

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice must be given if you or your child is unable to attend your tennis session to be eligible for a make-up lesson. Unfortunately, as per our policy - no refunds are given if the minimum 24 hours' notice is not given to the Head Coach, and payment for that particular lesson will be forfeited.

A make-up lesson can be arranged within the same term only.

There are no roll-overs for make-up lessons to following terms.

Payment

For junior tennis programs, parents will be invoiced two weeks into the start of the program. Payment must be made by due date on the invoice.

Medical

If medical treatment is required and the parent/guardian cannot be contacted, I authorise the Melbourne School of Tennis coach in charge to seek the necessary medical treatment. I release from Melbourne School of Tennis any and all liability for injury and costs associated with any Melbourne School of Tennis program or event.

Make-Up Lessons

All make up lessons must be arranged within the same School Term only.

There are no roll-overs for make-up lessons in following terms.

Safeguarding Children Commitment Statement

We have a zero-tolerance policy to any form of child abuse and are committed to ensuring that all children and young people involved in tennis feel safe, respected and supported. Our approach to safeguarding children is reflected in our policies, procedures, and the way we work with our students, young people and families. It is imperative that children and young people who access our classes and programs feel safe and supported. Our commitment extends beyond creating an environment that minimises risk or danger. We are committed to building an environment that is both child-safe and child-friendly. Together we can provide an environment in which children feel respected, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Child safety is everyone’s responsibility, and we are dedicated to making sure it is embedded in the culture of tennis.
